Take Big Trash Items To the Curb Monday Morning

Street Department begins spring clean-up next week.

Need to get rid of that item that's too big to be taken out with the trash, but don't have the means to dispose of it elsewhere?

The Oak Creek Street Department begins its annual spring clean-up on Monday, giving residents an opportunity to bring furniture, scrap metal and other large items to the curb for pickup.

Items that will not be accepted are paints, tires, batteries, fluorescent lights, hazardous materials, grass clippings, leaves and branches.

There is no charge for most of the pickup, Street Superintendent Mike Lampe said. Some appliances, however, require a $15 disposal fee. The Street Department has more information about that here

Items will generally be picked up along with the regular garbage route. But no matter residents' normal garbage day, they should bring large items to the curb by 6:45 a.m. Monday to make sure they are picked up, Lampe said.
