Tax Assistance For Hotel, Johnstone Plans Approved

Two notable measures get thumbs up from Plan Commission.

The Oak Creek Plan Commission last night approved plans for a Johnstone Supply Co. building on Howell Avenue and $4.5 million in tax assistance for the Sheraton hotel project.

now goes to the full Common Council for approval. The council previously signaled its support in a preliminary vote .

The proposal provides developer Syner G with $4.5 million in assistance through a tax-incremental financing district. Syner G is developing a Four Points by Sheraton hotel and a 1,830-space airport parking lot at the corner of College and Howell avenues.

Meanwhile, Johnstone Supply Co. will construct a 24,000-square-foot building at 6890 S. Howell Ave. The commission signed off on site, building and landscaping plans.
