Time-Lapse Video of Rawson Avenue Bridge Replacement

The state Department of Transportation used innovative technology to put the new Rawson Avenue bridge into place.

The state Department of Transportation has posted this time-lapse video of its major move June 15 to put the Rawson Avenue bridge in place.

The move was made thanks to a Self-Propelled Modular Transporter, a motorized vehicle that can pivot 360 degrees and lift and carry heavy loads.

That allowed Rawson Avenue over the freeway to be closed for just weeks instead of months, according to the DOT.
