Up To 205 New Jobs Coming To Franklin

Walker announces state assistance for expansion at Baptista's Bakery.

Across the 27th Street border, an expansion of Baptista's Bakery in Franklin is expected to create up to 205 new full-time jobs, according to a news release from Gov. Scott Walker's office.

Walker announced the state will provide assistance for the expansion.

"The expansion of Baptista's Bakery is great news for the company and will benefit our state's economy," Walker said in a news release. "With private sector job growth as my top priority, I'm thrilled that Baptista's Bakery is expanding in Wisconsin and creating more jobs."

The company plans to invest $75 million in the project, including the purchase of production equipment at an existing facility and the construction and equipment of a second production plant in Franklin. The company will be eligible for an allocation of up to $2.26 million under the economic development tax credit program administered by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.

Baptista's Bakery is at 4625 S. Oakwood Park Drive.
