Updated: Voter Turnout High in Oak Creek

Clerk's office says all polling places were near or at the 500-voter mark by noon.

Strong voter turnout was seen across Oak Creek Tuesday.

According to unofficial results, turnout was 44.5 percent, an unusually high number for a spring election. This year's ballot had high-profile races for Milwaukee County executive and state Supreme Court and came on the heels of the controversial collective-bargainning law.

By noon, all six districts were nearing or had reached the 500-voter mark, Deputy City Clerk Christa Miller said. 

Tuesday's election far exceeded Oak Creek's primary turnout of 19 percent.
