Brynn Weinzirl Named Distinguished Young Woman of Oak Creek

Weinzirl competed against five other candidates at annual program Friday. She receives a $400 cash scholarship and will participate in the state contest this summer.

Brynn Weinzirl has been named this year's Distinguished Young Woman of Oak Creek.

The daughter of Lora and Shea Weinzirl, Brynn received a $400 college scholarship and opportunities for other scholarships. She will participate in the Distinguished Young Women of Wisconsin program this summer.

Weinzirl competed against five other candidates -- Hannah Roehr, Cali Piojda, Marissa Widenski, Sarah Kick and Taylor Smith -- at the annual program Friday at .

Kick won the Alternate and Scholastics Award, while the Spirit and Program Promotion Awards were presented to Smith.

Candidates were evaluated in five categories: scholastics, interview, talent, fitness and self-expression. Weinzirl, who studies at the , performed a jazz dance for her talent.
