High School Track Improvements Near Completion

Oak Creek-Franklin School District officials say new track will be safer.

A $126,500 project to improve the track is nearly finished, school administrators say.

The Oak Creek-Franklin School Board . Officials said the track was in such bad shape that it posed safety risks for athletes.

The board approved spending $168,000 to improve the track; the actual cost was about $40,000 less than that.

The improvements will be made in plenty of time for next year's track season. After the season, the district will go back and examine how the new track held up, Superintendent Sara Burmeister said.
