Music Students To Converge on Oak Creek Saturday

Oak Creek-Franklin School District is playing host to music festival.

Hundreds of music students will come to Oak Creek High School Saturday to participate in a Wisconsin School Music Association festival.

Students will perform vocal and instrumental solos, duets, trios and small ensembles before a judge. A number of area schools are participating, including both Oak Creek middle schools and the high school.

WSMA music festivals support school music programs as part of a comprehensive education.

"These festivals are a great tradition in Wisconsin, involving over 200,000 students annually," WSMA Executive Director Michael George said.

The Oak Creek event, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., is free and open to the public.
