PPG Donates $5K to Oak Creek Schools

The donation allowed a group of middle school girls to attend a science-related camp at UWM.

PPG Industries provided $5,000 to enable 16 middle school girls in the Oak Creek-Franklin School District to attend a science, technology, engineering and math camp.

Girls learned about and created water filtration systems for different environments during the four-day STEM camp, held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, according to a PPG news release.

"The camp was a tremendous success and was pivotal in providing the girls with an opportunity to explore science- and engineering-related careers in an entertaining and educational environment," Superintendent Sara Burmeister said in the news release.

The donation was made on behalf of PPG's industrial coatings facility in Oak Creek, 10800 S. 13th St.
