The Harley-Davidson Museum opened in July 2008. It is a contemporary building just off the river in downtown Milwaukee that covers 20 acres of land. The outdoor area is free to the public and open 24 hours a day.

The indoor Museum has bikes dating back to the early 1900s and other pop culture favorites, such as the motorcycle Elvis Presley purchased days before he became famous with the hit single, Heartbreak Hotel.

Families with children can tailor their visit with the Road Pack program. The Road Pack is available for families to "check out" at the start of the tour and includes tips to help families make the most of their visit. This backpack includes four activities for parents and kids to complete while exploring the Museum exhibits including a motorcycle scavenger hunt.

Along with the Museum exhibits and archives visitors can visit the gift shop, Cafe Racer, and bar/restaurant. Motor, the Museum restaurant, features the best of Wisconsin on its menu including local cheeses, sausages and beers.
