Live Updates: Oak Creek Vying For State Title

Oak Creek faces Germantown for the state championship after blowing past Sheboygan Falls in the state semifinal.

The Oak Creek Knights are going for the state summer baseball championship Friday at Kapco Park in Mequon.

3:20 p.m. Thanks to a seven-run second inning, the Knights have blown things wide open. They now lead Sheboygan Falls 9-0 as they head into the fourth inning.

3:46 p.m. Even a fluke single goes the Knights' way, as they nab a Mequon runner trying to score to end the fifth and preserve the shutout. 9-0 Oak Creek in the bottom of the fifth.

3:52 p.m. And there is your ballgame as Oak Creek wins via the 10-run rule. They advance to play Germantown in the state championship, which begins at 6:35 p.m.

7:05 p.m. Knights' starter Hayden Krimmer runs into some control problems in the second inning, walking four as Germantown takes a 2-0 lead.

7:10 p.m. Oak Creek puts two on with nobody out in the second, but gets a strikeout and then double play to come up empty. Still 2-0 Germantown heading into the third.

7:15 p.m. Germantown scores on an error to take a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the third.

7:32 p.m. Both teams go quietly in the fourth. Going into the fifth with Germantown up 3-0.

7:45 p.m. Germantown continues to stifle the Knights' offense. Oak Creek still trails 3-0 into the sixth.

8:15 p.m. After the Warhawks plate another in the top of the sixth, the Knights put up a huge rally in the bottom half. They scratched across three runs before Dakota Slone provided Oak Creek's biggest hit of the season, an RBI single to tie the game at 4-4.

Heading into the 7th inning of a state championship game all tied up. Drama!

8:33 p.m. Riley Shelton's two-out, two-strike single has given the Knights a walk-off, 5-4 state championship!
