Chili Cook-Off Benefits Police Organization

The event benefits the Police Officer Support Team, which assists officers who are suffering from emotional, personal or physical stress.

The cook-off is expected to attract between 400 and 500 people, with a fundraising goal of $10,000, said Josh Jablonski, one of the event organizers.

"We're all doing it just to help because someday we may be in that situation, and if in fact we are, it would be nice to have someone there to help," he said.

The cook-off will be held from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. and includes a silent auction and raffle prizes.

Tickets are $3 for one bowl of chili or $15 to taste all of them. Students and military personnel can pay $10 for all-you-can-eat.
