PPG Grants Help Local Schools, Groups

Schools in Oak Creek will benefit from PPG Industries Foundation grant money, obtained by employees at the Oak Creek plant.

Employees of , 10800 S. 13th St., have obtained more than $45,000 in grants to help public schools in Oak Creek and around the area.

According to a PPG news release, the PPG Industries Foundation approved requests for up to $1,000 to fund programs at , , and , as well as 15 schools oustide of Oak Creek.

Employees also secured money for local organizations and nonprofit groups.

PPG Industries Foundation grants are designed to help fund schools where employees have an interest and nonprofit organizations where they volunteer.

"PPG is strongly committed to supporting the communities where its employees work and live," Oak Creek plant manager Jack Marshall said. "I am happy to be one of many PPG Oak Creek employees who actively assist local schools and nonprofit groups, and who take advantage of the PPG Industries Foundation’s programs to direct funding where we have an interest. It's a great opportunity for the company to support the community in ways that are personally significant to PPG employees."

The Oak Creek PPG plant, which has been in operation since 1974, manufactures, paints and resins for packaging, and in automotive and industrial markets.

PPG, based in Pittsburgh, operates in more than 60 countries.
