Start Your Weekend With Camp Out at Henry Miller Park

Coming up this weekend: the Recreation Department will hold camping-like activities Friday at Henry Miller Park.

Bring your grill and favorite campfire items to the Oak Creek Recreation Department's camp out Friday at Henry Miller Park.

The event will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the park, 315 E. Groveland Drive. Attendees can take part in games, snacks and sports and listen to folk singer Rick Fitzgerald's campfire songs.

Overnight camping is not permitted. See more in the recreation department's post on Patch

Around the area, several activities may be of note to Oak Creek residents as they prepare for the weekend:

  • The Green Bay Packers open training camp Friday in pursuit of their fifth Super Bowl title.
  • The Washington County Fair continues through Sunday. Among the performers set to take the stage are Darius Rucker and Daughtry.
  • German Fest, otherwise known as "Milwaukee's Original Haus Party," kicks off on the Summerfest grounds.
  • And the fourth-annual Milwaukee Brewfest—the Ultimate Boston Beer Experience—will be held Saturday just a stone's throw from German Fest at 1600 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive.
