Wisconsin GAB to Extend Filing Deadlines Due to Extreme Cold

By Kyle Maichle, Editor of Wisconsin Election Watch,

MADISON – With Wisconsin facing extreme cold temperatures that have closed schools and governments across the state, the Government Accountability Board will provide a one day extension to those entities that close on January  7th.

A memorandum obtained from the Government Accountability Board says that if in the event a government or school district is ordered to be closed by an authorized official that the day would be considered a holiday.  Therefore, the filing deadline becomes Wednesday January 8th by 5:00 PM.   For candidates running for school board, the only way that the extension would be applied is if the district’s administrative office is closed.

As of Monday afternoon, numerous school districts across the state including Green Bay, Appleton, Madison, Milwaukee, and La Crosse have announced that schools will be closed on Tuesday.  However, some districts that have closed for Tuesday will keep their administrative offices open negating a one day extension to the nominating signature deadline.

Meanwhile private business, the ones that pay for everything the government employees enjoy are open. Everyone reported to work, everyone was productive, and taxes were still charged on profits and income. Good job government, way to show how useless and lazy you are.

Are you really that close minded? That like saying all GOP Lovers were born with a silver spoon and do not need to work or were given everything on silver platter...

Sorry, but you are looking at the small picture... It is the big fish whom the tax payers really support.... More than one-third of the nation's highest-paid CEOs from the past two decades led companies that were subsidized by American taxpayers..Get a clue and do some research turn off the radio and TV and open a book or two...

Sorry wrong again...You just cannot open your mind...It is quite clear you must be brain washed....I have always supported myself without the need for governement assistance or anyone else's HELP..

An idiot would be someone who does see how Corporate Welfare is really the one who is spending your tax dollars. The federal government spent $92 billion in direct and indirect subsidies to businesses and private- sector corporate entities each year...Again, open a book and turn off the talk radio...

Ha...I love a fish when I catch one. Corporate Welfare Grows to $154 Billion even in Midst of Major Government Cuts...This not include military spending for supporting the global economy...Such as oil drilling companies..

I got another bite...Government spending under Obama, including his signature stimulus bill, is rising at a 1.4% annualized pace – slower than at any time in nearly 60 years.
Stevie January 09, 2014 at 09:23 PM
zzz - you can't really believe that BS line on the 1.4% especially knowing, well at least us high informed do, that the debt has risen $7 trillion under Obama. Debts come from consecutive deficits. The thing is, the number you state, well it's fake, and it's a democrat talking point to deliberately lie to those you state it to. To get that number, the 2009 stimulus was thrown out, a $1 trillion instant spending increase that Obama, and the democrats in the congress and senate passed. Yet it happened in early 2009. The fiscal year ended October 2009, so the democrats, documented liars as they all are gave their stimulus spending to GW Bush's financial year. Then continued their increased level of spending, and deficits, at similar levels, year after year, after year -------------------------------------------------- I expect you will correct your lies in the future, because right now you are hung up on my hook. And it's a big one.

Zzz why are you not as quick to respond? Did they hook you too deep with facts?!
Cody Walker January 12, 2014 at 12:46 PM
