• Family: Carolina and her husband, Michael Stark, live at 29th and State Street in the City of Milwaukee's Historic Concordia Neighborhood. Carolina is a bilingual Latina who grew up in a bicultural family. Michael, currently an administrative law judge, is a former high school math teacher and former trial attorney.
• Education: Carolina Stark earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she worked in clinical programs, won awards in oral advocacy competitions and served as president of the Moot Court Board. She earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish and criminal justice from Saint Louis University.

• Related experience: Carolina Stark has extensive experience making important decisions directly affecting the lives of citizens in our community. As an Administrative Law Judge, Carolina has five years of proven experience conducting legal hearings, treating citizens fairly, and making impartial decisions based in the law. As a former trial attorney in Milwaukee County, Carolina earned a reputation for her legal talent, professionalism and ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds. As a Commissioner for the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission since 2008, by appointment of Mayor Barrett and unanimous confirmation by the Common Council, Carolina has experience making tough decisions vital to public safety. Carolina also serves as a bilingual chief poll worker on election days, as a board member of the Wisconsin Hispanic Lawyers Association, and as an active member of her neighborhood association.

Why are you running for this office?

As my history shows, I value public service and I enjoy engaging in my community. As a Circuit Court Judge, I will draw upon my personal background, education, legal experience and community involvement to continue serving the public and working for a strong and safe community.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?

To carry out the responsibility entrusted to me by the community: to administer a fair and impartial courtroom, to provide meaningful access to justice and to make tough decisions for a strong and safe community.

What sets you apart from the other candidate?

First, I have five years, not only a couple of months, of proven experience conducting legal hearings and making independent decisions. Second, I have actively engaged in the community for ten years. Third, I speak Spanish fluently and have extensive experience working with people who do not use English as their primary language and with court interpreters. Last, the other candidate was appointed to the Circuit Court by Governor Walker.

Actions speak louder than words, and my actions over the last decade show that as a Circuit Court Judge I will continue to make smart, fair and independent decisions based in the law and consistent with community values.
