No, Igor: If it comes out of their mouths it is the truth. You on the other hand have to proveRead More everything you say. At least that's the way it seemed when I last did jury duty. Hypocrisy.
Igor July 4, 2014 at 05:27 pm
Last time I had jury duty, the judge giving the instructions told us that when listening toRead More testimony, the police testimony holds no more credence than the average citizen. If you fight a ticket, guess who the judge is going to believe?

According to William A. Niskanen, one of the architects of Reaganomics, "Reagan delivered onRead More each of his four major policy objectives, although not to the extent that he and his supporters had hoped", and notes that the most substantial change was in the tax code, where the top marginal individual income tax rate fell from 70.1% to 28.4%, and there was a "major reversal in the tax treatment of business income", with effect of "reducing the tax bias among types of investment but increasing the average effective tax rate on new investment". Roger Porter, another architect of the program, acknowledges that the program was weakened by the many hands that changed the President's calculus, such as Congress.[2][21] President Reagan, has remained popular as an antitax hero despite raising taxes eleven times over the course of his presidency, all in the name of fiscal responsibility.[22] Reagan ultimately raised taxes more times than he cut them.[23] According to Paul Krugman, "Over all, the 1982 tax increase undid about a third of the 1981 cut; as a share of GDP, the increase was substantially larger than Mr. Clinton's 1993 tax increase."[10] According to historian and domestic policy adviser Bruce Bartlett, Reagan's tax increases over the course of his presidency took back half of the 1981 tax cut. Though since the Reagan tax reductions, top marginal tax rates have remained lower than at any point in US history since 1931, when the top marginal rate was raised from 25% to 63%. [24]

It's not the number of times that count, it's the size of the resulting cuts, and txes dropped underRead More Reagan, and economy boomed. Reagan's tax increases were part of a deal with Democrats to reduce spending. The taxes went up but the spending cuts never occurred. Just like Reagan's amnesty was supposed to be tied to border enforcement. Reagan's two biggest mistakes involved trusting Democrats to hold up their end of the deal. Those of us who remember that will never be fooled again.

vocal local 1 Fourth graders, generally 10 or 11 year olds. What we need to consider is how oftenRead More this age group experiments with cigarettes and alcohol to form a comparison. One incident shouldn't skew the whole. It's an out liner not the norm that shouldn't raise level of fear and denial of rights of adults. With this age group sexual experimentation/deviance is more common today and should be a greater concern. Here in OC when the cops raid the schools they have not found any drugs at the middle school perhaps they need to include the elementary we may be missing the boat. Are you aware Hydra that today were supposed to keep our prescription medications in a lock box in our homes to keep them out of the hands of others? This ideology bothers me in that my home is just that, my home. I do not believe I should have to lock possessions up to keep them away from others in the privacy of my home and I won't. I'll ban the grandchildren first if their parents don't teach them to respect me, my home and possessions.

How many causalities are we going to have when people are driving under the influence of this drug,Read More what happens to the reaction of the person under the influence when all of a sudden traffic comes to a sudden stop, and the joker behind you clocking 70 miles an hour and he is high.
vocal local 1 April 27, 2014 at 09:59 am
The data supporting or negating concern of an increase of driving accidents involving pot smoking isRead More inconclusive at this time. 1. states charge for DUI's. 2, pot remains in the body for up to 30 days on average. Unfortunately, the joker behind one driving at 70 MPH when traffic comes to a sudden stop is most likely going to rear end you regardless. I was nearly rear ended Friday AM on Howell by a woman on a cell phone. Add to this the numbers of persons on pain pills, mental health pills, legal substances. Add kids, animals, day dreaming, elderly and inexperienced drivers to the existing equation and driving becomes quite risky. All in all we will still drive. Personally, I am of the opinion that the pot smoker is less of a problem than those who currently legally drive as listed above. I'd even venture that currently cell phones are more problematic.

Let's get to the point. What Jon Daniel tweeted was not true parody (or impersonation) at all.Read More Political parody should mimic the target's personality and actions, not present unrealistic scenarios that bear no resemblance to his behavior. For an example of true parody, see the Onion's current take-off of Eric Cantor. What Daniel did was nasty and unimaginative.

Blame the Jews. The Jews thought up the Christians, 800 years later the Muslims jumped on boardRead More together they've killed millions with their bloody damn wars. This Democrat also believes the 9/11 disaster was exploited, or worse, engineered to allow forRead More passage of the Patriot Act.
