New 27th St. Grocery Store Sets Ribbon-Cutting
GFS Marketplace opened last weekend and will hold a formal ribbon-cutting Tuesday morning.
GFS Marketplace, the new 27th Street grocery store that officially opened its doors last weekend, has scheduled a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony for 10 a.m. Tuesday. The 16,000-square-foot store, 6919 S. 27th St., is something of a mix between a traditional grocery store and a warehouse. GFS is known primarily as a food-service distributor but also has 155 Marketplace stores across the country, including five in Wisconsin. The ribbon-cutting will include Franklin Mayor Tom Taylor, South Suburban Chamber Executive Director Barbara Wesener and the presentation of a $1,000 donation to Human Concerns of South Milwaukee.
