Police Investigate Break-In at AT&T Retailer

Someone broke into the business early Sunday morning and stole cell phones, according to police.

Oak Creek police found a back window smashed and discovered cell phones stolen from Advanced Technologies, an AT&T retailer at 8241 S. Howell Ave., early Sunday morning. Police were notified about 5:15 a.m. that a commercial burglary alarm was sounding at the business' back door, according to a police report. An officer arrived and found broken glass from a window on the door. After clearing the building, police found that a suspect or suspects had climbed a back display wall into the storage room. A representative from the business told police that up to six Smartphones were stolen. The suspects also tore the alarm panel and wireless connection off the walls, according to the police report. Racine Man Accused of Stealing Cell Phones From Oak Creek UPS Facility

Suspect told police he stole a box of cell phones, which were supposed to be delivered to a store in Greenfield, and later sold them for $500.

A 30-year-old Racine man is facing charges after he allegedly stole a box of cell phones destined for a Greenfield store while working at the Oak Creek UPS facility. Justin L. Benson was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of theft. If convicted, he faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On June 8, Oak Creek police officers were called to the UPS distribution facility, 6800 S. 6th St., after it was discovered a box of cell phones was stolen. The phones were supposed to be delivered to the AT&T store at 4739 S. 76th St., but the store contacted the facility and informed them the phones never arrived.
