The former Barbara's Hallmark space at the Oak Creek Centre is now occupied, albeit temporarily. Halloween City will open at 8591 S. Howell Ave. A sign went up last week and a note on the door said the business is hiring. No word on when the business will open. (No one was around when Patch stopped by.) Halloween City sells costumes, accessories and decorations, according to its website. The company, founded in 1977, has more than 400 stores across the country. The space has been vacant since Barbara's Hallmark closed in January.
Details of closure are not known.
Updated 2:55 p.m. Jan. 18: It appears the closure is permanent, as an "out of business" sign now hangs on the door. Barbara's Hallmark at 8591 S.
