Oak Creek secures victory with defensive stand.
The Oak Creek boys' basketball team survived a second-half run by West Allis Hale to notch a 59-48 win Tuesday night. Jonathan Breen led the way with 20 points and Terrence Garner added 16. The Knights next host Kenosha Tremper at 7 p.m. Friday.

Franklin defeats Oak Creek 62-48 in Southeast Conference action.
Tuesday night's Southeast Conference boys basketball game was a classic matchup of the uptempo, run-and-gun Franklin Sabers and the slower, half court-oriented offense of the Oak Creek Knights. The debate over which style is better may never end, but on this night the Sabers' fast pace proved to be too much for the Knights in a 62-48 victory. "You could see why we didn't want to speed up," Knights head coach Mike Jossie said. "The pace led to our offensive cuts slowing down and to foul trouble for our defense." Oak Creek started off strong and led for much of the first quarter before ending the frame tied at 13. Junior Casey Magyar hit three shots from 3-point range in the quarter and was the key to the Knights' early success. Franklin …

The Oak Creek boys basketball team hit the holiday break with narrow win over Sussex-Hamilton.
The Oak Creek Knights headed into the Christmas break on a positive note, surviving the Sussex-Hamilton Chargers' fourth quarter comeback attempt to win 45-44. The host Knights held an 11-point lead with just six minutes left to play in the fourth quarter, but the Chargers rallied late cutting the lead down to one point on three different occasions. The Knights would bend but not break, using a trio of big plays to hold on for a victory. The first clutch play came with just over a minute remaining when sophomore forward Jordan Veloz hit a three-pointer to extend Oak Creek's lead to four points. "That was a confident shot," Knights head coach Mike Jossie said. "He stepped up and took it with no hesitation and it was huge for us." Junior …
