Get caught up on the food scene in the Milwaukee area with Patch's newest feature. Here's the latest foodie news.
If you love food and exploring new places to eat, or want to find out what eateries are coming and going, we have latest restaurant and other "foodie" news from throughout the Milwaukee area. Here's a look at what's new new on the local food scene. If you've been waiting for a Chick-fil-A restaurant to open up in the Milwaukee area, you're going to have to wait until at least next year, the company says. Plans for a Chick-fil-A were approved by Greendale officials in 2012 and the chain was supposed to open a new store on South 76th Street near Southridge this summer. But a company official now says the store won't open until sometime in 2014. That leaves just one Chick-fil-A in Wisconsin — at Regency Mall in Racine. Read more on Greendale…

You can catch the Brewers, Badgers and Packers games at several Oak Creek area establishments.
It's one of the biggest Wisconsin sports weekends in recent memory, as the Brewers begin their playoff push, the Badgers meet Nebraska in a highly-anticipated showdown and the Packers host Denver at Lambeau Field. If you're not going to the games but feel like leaving your couch, several establishments in the Oak Creek area will have what you are looking for. Here are a few of our favorites: Buffalo Wild Wings: Numerous televisions, tasty wings and reasonably-priced drinks make B-dubs a perpetual favorite to watch a big sporting event. 8171 S. Wing joint offers good atmosphere, reasonable prices.
You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Oak Creek Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice: BUFFALO WILD WINGS: We take a break from profiling locally-owned businesses to spotlight a well-known chain offering good food and reasonable prices. "B-Dubs" is an excellent place to enjoy a beer and chicken wings, has plenty of televisions to watch the game and is conducive for larger group outings. The restaurant offers a wide variety of sauces for wings, including Parmesan Garlic, Asian Zing and Mango Habanero. It also has outdoor seating. 8171 S. Howell Ave. 414-570-9464. Oak Creek may not be known for its nightlife, but residents can still ring in 2011 in their hometown.
Let's face it: Party-goers don't exactly descend on Oak Creek, even for festive holidays like July 4, St. Patrick's Day or, where we presently are on the calendar, New Year's Eve. But that doesn't mean the city is completely devoid of options, either. Here are a few establishments you and your designated driver could visit to celebrate the holiday: Norine's on Oakwood, 823 W. Oakwood Road: Bring $30 and a dish to pass and you can be treated to a festive atmosphere, food, and all you can drink. Pre-registration is not mandatory but is encouraged. Jazzbro's Sports Zone, 8510 S. Chicago Road: Jazzbro's will be open as usual but traditionally attracts a good crowd, with drink specials and a countdown at midnight. Classic Lanes, 7501 S. Howell …
