OWI arrest is Oak Creek man's fifth.
A 67-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for fifth-offense drunken driving after a crash that sent two people to the hospital Friday. According to a police report, the man ran a stop sign on S. Waring Drive, struck some fencing near the Apartment Homes of Wildwood complex and then hit a vehicle that was stopped. Both passengers inside the vehicle, women age 24 and 25, were taken to Wheaton Franciscan, police said. Each vehicle suffered extensive damage. The 67-year-old was found to be intoxicated and taken to Milwaukee County Jail, according to the police report. He was in due in court this morning. The OWI arrest was the man's fifth. Online court records show his last drunken-driving conviction came in 1998.
High speed chase that started in Caledonia ends when man crashes his car into a tree in Oak Creek.
A man, who admitted to driving drunk, was thrown from his car after it hit a tree at 5:03 a.m. Friday on Douglas Avenue and County Line Road. According to a report written by Officer Robert Lyle, of the Caledonia Police Department, Jason Robertson, 28, of Oak Creek, drove his car 90 mph in a 45 mph zone. Lyle, who was patrolling the area in a squad car at the time, tried catching up, but Robertson was driving so far ahead of Lyle that he didn't think Robertson could see his emergency lights. As Robertson approached County Line Road, Lyle reported that he "no longer saw tail lights." Lyle got to the scene of the crash and noticed Robertson lying on the side of the road.
