Field Narrows In Clerk, Supervisor, Aldermanic Races

Chris Guzikowski takes home 55 percent of the vote in bid to unseat Michalski.

In his first run for public office, Chris Guzikowski pulled in 55 percent of the vote against incumbent 6th District Alderman Tom Michalski. The race was one of four others - besides that for mayor - that Oak Creek residents voted on Tuesday. Guzikowski will face Michalski, who had 38 percent of the vote in the aldermanic race, again in the April 3 general election. A third candidate, Ed Reader, finished with 7 percent of the vote.  Guzikowski said he had a good feeling going into Tuesday and was "extremely satisfied" with the results. "There's a statement here, I think, that was made by the constituents that they feel the same way I'm feeling," he said. "There's a lot of work to be done. This has definitely been a grassroots campaign and …

LeAnn Launstein-Seriously this is who the people of Oak Creek want as their city clerk? She was recalled for being one who supported big payouts in Milwaukee. She voted to give the employees of Milwaukee lots of tax payer dollars!!! Hmmmmm and we want her involved in Oak Creek's business? Fiscal responsibility and common sense!! Think about that   more ›

Milwaukee County Supervisor Candidates: On the Issues

Five questions for Donald Schwartz, Ken Gehl and Steve Taylor.

The three candidates for the open Milwaukee County supervisor seat agree on at least one thing - that the 9th District has been under-represented on the county board in the last few years. Donald Schwartz, Ken Gehl and Steve Taylor all want to change that and are trying to make the case about which one is best to fill the seat of Paul Cesarz, who decided not to run for re-election. The race is one of several on the ballot in Oak Creek in Tuesday's primary. The top two vote-getters will face off in the April 3 general election. The 9th supervisory district covers most of Oak Creek, most of Franklin and all of Hales Corners. A small portion of Oak Creek, on the north end of town, is part of the 8th District. There, incumbent Pat Jursik is …

Forgot one thing. He has been a major player AGAINST the development of parks and recreation in Franklin also. His support for the CCD an outstanding citizen led group for community project development has been non-existent. While he spends an additional $25,000 on a website to attract business and supports projects that his "in the pocket" campaign chair Jim O'Malley directs him to. No conflicts…   more ›

Three Seek Milwaukee County Supervisor Seat

All serve on governing bodies of their communities.

Candidates looking to replace County Supervisor Paul Cesarz come from all three of the communites in the Ninth Supervisory District, and all three have prior experience as an elected official. Candidates are: Hales Corners Village Trustee Donald Schwartz, Franklin Alderman Steve Taylor and Oak Creek Alderman Ken Gehl. Cesarz is not running for re-election. The district is comprised of all of Hales Corners and the bulk of Oak Creek and Franklin.  Sheriff's deputy Robert Ostrowski, who previously said he was also running for the post, did not file nomination papers before the 5 p.m. Tuesday deadline, according to county records. He did not return a message Wednesday. The three men will be on the Feb. 21 primary ballot; the top two vote-…
