Police: Driver in Crash Was Drunk, Texting

A man was arrested for drunken driving-causing injury following a car-motorcycle crash early Sunday morning during the freeway shutdown.

A driver in the car-motorcycle crash early Sunday at 13th Street and College Avenue was drunk and texting at the time of the accident, according to an Oak Creek police report. According to a police report, the vehicle was northbound on 13th Street and slowing for a stoplight when it rear-ended the motorcycle about 12:20 a.m. Sunday, causing the motorcyclist to fall from the bike and strike his head on the pavement. Police arrested the driver of the vehicle for drunken driving-causing injury. He later admitted to officers he had his head down because he was texting on his phone, according to the police report. Wrong-Way Driver Goes Over Median; Charged with 3rd OWI

A 43-year-old Oak Creek woman has been charged with three offenses after an April 13 incident in which police say she drove the wrong way on Howell Avenue.

An Oak Creek woman whom police say drove the wrong way on Howell Avenue and crossed over the median to correct herself has been charged with her third drunken driving offense. Mary Polachek, 43, was also charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration after the April 13 incident. According to a criminal complaint: A witness called 911 just after 10:30 p.m. reporting a car driving northbound in the southbound lanes of S. Howell Avenue in the 7100 block. Between 10 and 15 cars had to move out of the way to avoid Polachek, who then drove over the grassy median and into the northbound lanes. Police: OWI Driver Stole Car, Clocked At 95 MPH

A 19-year-old Greenfield man was arrested for drunken driving Wednesday afternoon in the 8800 block of S. Howell Avenue.

A 19-year-old Greenfield man was drunk and driving a stolen vehicle when he was clocked at 95 mph on Howell Avenue Wednesday afternoon, according to an Oak Creek police report. Police stopped the vehicle in the 8800 block of S. Howell Ave. about 3:50 p.m. and found the driver bleeding from a wound on his arm, according to the report. The man, who did not require an ambulance, was arrested for unreasonable and imprudent speed and drunken driving after registering a .18 on a breath test. The vehicle had damage and yellow paint on it and was reported stolen from Milwaukee, police said. It was towed to the Oak Creek police station. The man has not yet been charged, according to online court records.

Alleged Drunken Driver Flees Freeway Crash, Hits Vehicle on 27th Street

Police say a 32-year-old man going the wrong way on 27th Street struck a car at the intersection of 27th and Ryan, just minutes after fleeing an accident on the freeway.

A 32-year-old Fredonia man involved in a hit-and-run accident on the freeway Monday night proceeded to drive the wrong way on 27th Street and strike a car head-on, according to police. Officers began searching for the vehicle about 10:10 p.m. after a report that he hit a car on Interstate 94 and exited the freeway at College Avenue, according to the Oak Creek Police Department logbook.  At 10:19 p.m., police were informed that a driver going southbound in the northbound lanes on 27th Street struck a vehicle trying to make a left turn at the 27th and Ryan intersection. Driver Going 80 MPH On 27th St. Arrested For OWI

The 38-year-old driver has three drunken-driving convictions and was arrested again in the early morning hours Sunday, according to a police report.

A 38-year-old man clocked at 80 mph in a 45 mph zone on S. 27th Street was arrested for his fourth drunken driving offense early Sunday morning. An officer started following the man's vehicle after seeing him make a left-hand turn onto Ryan Road and deviate from his lane about 4:30 a.m., according to a police report.  The driver then accelerated well over the speed limit and was eventually pulled over in the 8900 block of S. 27th St. The man had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech, smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking, according to the report. He registered a preliminary blood-alcohol content of .15 and was taken to Wheaton Hospital for a blood draw.

Police Arrest Woman For 5th OWI

A witness called 911 about a vehicle that was swerving, speeding and hitting the curb on Rawson Avenue near Farm and Fleet.

A 51-year-old Oak Creek woman seen swerving, speeding and hitting the curb was arrested for drunken driving for the fifth time Tuesday night. A driver called 911 about 9:10 p.m. regarding the woman's erratic driving on W. Rawson Avenue, in the 600 block near Farm and Fleet, according to a police report. The driver told police the vehicle hit the curb five times. An officer pulled the vehicle over near E. Rawson and S. Clement avenues. After the woman refused to take sobriety tests, she was arrested, taken to Wheaton Hospital for a blood draw and then to county jail, according to the report.

Fender Bender Leads to Man's 3rd OWI Arrest

A 28-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested after a minor accident in a gas station parking lot.

A minor incident in a gas station parking lot resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old Oak Creek man, who could be charged with his third drunken driving offense. According to an Oak Creek police report, the man backed into a parked car about 9:50 p.m. March 8 at Shell gas station, 2170 W. Ryan Road. His car did not sustain damage and the vehicle he hit had only minor damage, according to the report. However, police found him to be intoxicated and took him to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for a blood draw. The man now awaits possible charges from the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

Drunken Driving Arrest is Woman's Fifth

A 55-year-old West Allis woman could serve up to six years in prison after she was pulled over on College Avenue early Saturday.

A 55-year-old West Allis woman faces her fifth drunken-driving charge after she was arrested on W. College Avenue near 3rd Street early Saturday morning. A Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy pulled over Nancy Rehbein about 2:30 a.m. after seeing her deviating lanes, according to a Sheriff's Office news release. She was taken to county jail and could serve up to six years in prison if convicted of a felony drunken driving charge. Rehbein was previously convicted of OWI in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2008.

High-Speed Chase Follows Drunken Driver Complaint at McD's

24-year-old Christopher Wolf fled an Oak Creek McDonald's and led police on a brief high-speed chase down Ryan Road, according to a criminal complaint.

A Franklin man police say was driving drunk led officers on a high-speed chase down Ryan Road.  Police say Christopher Wolf, 24, ignored an officer's instructions in the parking lot of an Oak Creek McDonald's early March 2 and fled the scene. He sped down Ryan Road before losing control and crashing into a snowbank near 33rd Street, according to a criminal complaint. Wolf is now charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with fleeing police, a felony; his second drunken driving offense; and operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration. Alleged Drunken Driver Flees McDonald's

A 24-year-old man, one of two alleged drunken drivers at an Oak Creek McDonald's, was eventually apprehended in Franklin.

The second of two alleged drunken drivers Friday night at an Oak Creek McDonald's fled from police and was later arrested in Franklin. According to an Oak Creek police report: An officer responding to a drunken driving complaint approached a 24-year-old Franklin man about 2:50 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the restaurant, 9471 S. 13th St. The man then fled in his vehicle at a high rate of speed, traveling westbound on Ryan Road. He continued until 33rd Street and Ryan Road, where he was arrested after a foot pursuit.
