Two classic rock bands will play the Oak Creek Community Center this weekend to benefit St. James Church.
Sounds from the 1950s, 60s and 70s will fill the Oak Creek Community Center ballroom on Saturday during the second annual fundraiser dance for St. James Catholic Church of Franklin. The concert will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight at the center, 8580 S. Howell Ave., and feature a pair of old school bands: Liverpool '64 and Close Enuf. Liverpool '64 is a Beatles tribute band set to play from 7 to 9:15 p.m. Close Enuf, which also specializes in classic rock, is on stage from 9:45 p.m. to midnight. The event also features raffles, cash bar and table snacks. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. For more information, call the community center at (414) 768-5840.

Two classic rock-oriented bands played on a pleasant evening outside the community center.
This year's concert series at the Oak Creek Community Center kicked off Wednesday on what turned out to be a beautiful evening. Two classic rock-oriented bands, AARPer's Bizarre and the Beatles tribute band Liverpool '64, took the stage and performed in front of a good crowd outside the community center, 8580 S. Howell Ave. It was the first of five shows on Wednesday nights this summer. Next up is Southern Tradition on July 11, followed by Pat McCurdy on July 25, In Black N White on Aug. 8 and Mt. Olive on Aug. 22.

If relaxing on a lawn chair and listening to free live music on a nice summer night is your thing, well then, the Oak Creek Community Center has something for you. The community center's summer concert series returns Wednesday with AARPer's Bizarre and Liverpool 64. It's the first of five shows on Wednesday nights on the grounds of the community center, 8580 S. Two classic rock bands coming to community center.
A pair of bands playing old-school hits will bring their acts to the Oak Creek Community Center Jan. 21. The Beatles tribute band Liverpool '64 and Close Enuf, another classic rock outfit, will perform as part of a fundraiser for St. James Catholic Church. The event will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight and include raffles, a cash bar and table snacks. Beatles memorabilia will also be on display.
