Lt. Murphy To Attend State Of The Union Speech

Lt. Brian Murphy, the Oak Creek police officer shot 12 times during the Sikh Temple shooting, was invited by Michelle Obama to attend the State of The Union Address.

Lt. Brian Murphy, the Oak Creek police officer shot during the mass shooting at the Sikh temple in August, will flank Michelle Obama during President Barack Obama's State of the Union address on Tuesday.  Murphy told Patch's new media partners at WISN-TV that he and his wife almost turned down the trip, but now that it's happening, it feels like a dream. "With my background, you wouldn't think in a million years, yeah, when I'm 50 I'm gonna go see the White House and sit in a box and all those things. That just don't happen," Murphy said. During his speech, Obama is expected to focus on the need for tighter restrictions on guns, according to Whitehouse.gov.  Murphy said he understands the political aspect given the nationwide debate over …

Bigger Patriot W/ Bigger Flag Pin

“Patriot” your something of idiot, aren’t you. The Russians are not invading. We do not live under the yoke a tyrannical despotic government in need of a violent revolution. And you most certainly do not need a military grade semi-automatic, high-capacity, assault rifle-replete with tactical scope and pistol-grip, to take Bambi down. I suggest you visit a library (it’s the building containing …   more ›

First Lady Michelle Obama Fires Up Crowd in Milwaukee

An estimated 2,500 Obama supporters from Milwaukee and across the world came to Bradley Tech High School Thursday afternoon to hear the First Lady's call to action to get out the vote in November.

After coming so close to meeting President Barack Obama when he came to Racine, 13-year-old Michelle Payne's dreams came true Thursday when Michelle Obama finished a campaign speech at Bradley Tech High School, patted her on the head, hugged her and told her she was proud of her. "It was an ecstatic feeling, something I will probably never feel again in my life," the Racine girl said. "She's my role model. I just started crying, and when she hugged me I didn't want to let go." Payne's emotional experience was echoed by many in the crowd of roughly 2,500 Obama supporters from across Milwaukee and the world who attended the First Lady's speech at Bradley Tech High School Thursday afternoon. In her speech, she recalled growing up lower class …

PART 2 Alinsky: From Forbes Magazine: No doubt, many will wish to give the credit to the efforts of the GOP controlled House of Representatives. That’s fine if that’s what works for you. However, you don’t get to have it both ways. Credit whom you will, but if you are truly interested in a fair analysis of the Obama years to date, at least when it comes to spending, you’re going to have to …   more ›

Families of Temple Shooting Victims Meet With First Lady

Family members said they were happy to see Michelle Obama, who met with them privately Thursday at Oak Creek High School.

Michelle Obama knew all about Satwant Singh Kaleka. She knew the 65-year-old temple president's story, about how he rushed a gunman on the morning of Aug. 5 and died trying to save the temple he built. On Thursday, the first lady met privately with Kaleka's family, as well as the families of five other members who died and four others who were injured in the shootings earlier this month. Amardeep Singh Kaleka, Satwant's son, said Obama was familiar with the stories of all of the victims. "The thing she kept repeating was, your father was a true hero," he said. Family members said they were happy to see Obama, who met with them privately at Oak Creek High School for about a half hour following a campaign stop in Milwaukee. Amarjit Kaur, …

Then we both want the same thing......imformation. I guess it's a matter of how to obtain that information. There is an audio of both the 911 calls and police on the scene. I've listened to both. The video has not been released yet to my knowledge. That's where I started looking for information. As far as what each person did and why, I or you don't have the knowledge or experience to say that it…   more ›

Michelle Obama to Meet with Families of Temple Shooting Victims

First lady is expected to be in the Milwaukee area on Thursday in a move that national Sikh leader describes as "reassuring and heartening."

First Lady Michelle Obama is coming to the Milwaukee area on Thursday to meet with family members of the victims of the Sikh temple shooting in Oak Creek. Obama will meet with immediate family members of those who were killed and injured, a White House aide told Reuters News Service Saturday on the condition of anonymity. It was unclear whether Obama would visit Oak Creek or the temple while she's here, or whether she'll meet with Oak Creek police Lt. Brian Murphy, who was one of four people injured in the Aug. 5 shootings. Murphy remains hospitalized and is in satisfactory condition. Obama also will attend a campaign event while in town. Gunman Wade Michael Page opened fire during a Sunday service at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, killing …
