Mild Winter Nixes Ice Skating at Henry Miller Park
Some are apparently willing to test their luck, however.
The mild winter temperatures prompted the Oak Creek Recreation Department to warn people against ice skating on the pond at Henry Miller Park. The recreation department late last week posted signs about thin and dangerous ice and advised Oak Creek police to watch for people walking on it, according to the department logbook. Indeed, ice only covered about half of the pond by late Monday afternoon. Not that it stopped these brave (crazy?) Oak Creek High School students from wandering over it.
