Robbery Victim Clings to Getaway Car; 3 Charged

Baited and robbed, an Oak Creek man says, he clutched the escaping car and tried to get his goods, but the driver just kept going faster until he had to bail.

Three people have been charged with robbery and recklessly endangering safety after they duped an Oak Creek man into handing over $300 for a phone and then drove off while he clung to their accelerating car, a criminal complaint says. The victim said he had rendezvoused in Wauwatosa with a woman selling the phone on Craigslist, and when she and two men with her started pulling away with the phone and his money, he reached into the car trying to grab the phone. But he then found himself going for a ride on the wrong side of the door. He let go and rolled away when he realized they were just going to keep going faster, he said. Man Accused Of Robbing Woman In Her Home

Police say a 21-year-old South Milwaukee man entered a woman's home and took her purse at knifepoint.

A 21-year-old man is accused of entering an Oak Creek woman's home and robbing her of her purse at knifepoint. Alex J. Povlich of South Milwaukee has been charged with armed robbery with threat of force. He faces up to 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines if convicted. According to a criminal complaint: On Oct. 17, a woman in the 8400 block of S. 15th Avenue heard her front door open about 10:05 p.m. and saw a white man wearing a baseball cap and holding a white ceramic knife. The man, whom she later identified as Povlich, approached her and said "all I want is your purse" and "I don't want to hurt you, where is your purse." Report: 27th St. Walmart Robbed at Knifepoint

According to a report, a man pulled a knife on an employee at the Franklin Walmart and fled with a cash bag.

Franklin police are searching for a man who pulled a knife on an employee and took a cash bag from the pharmacy in Walmart, 6701 S. 27th St., according to the Franklin NOW. The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Monday, according to the report. A 51-year-old Milwaukee man has been identified as the suspect but has not yet been located. Click here for the full report.

A 53-year-old Oak Creek man was killed in the grocery store he owns in Milwaukee. Fawzi Abu-Hamden was shot to death by a masked man Friday night in what police say appears to be a robbery, according to Patch's media partners at Fox 6. No arrests have been made. Police Search For Thanksgiving Morning Robbery Suspect

A suspect handed a Walgreens employee a note about 7 a.m. stating he had a gun. Police searched the area but could not immediately find him.

Police are investigating an attempted robbery Thanksgiving morning at the Walgreens near 27th and College. The suspect handed an employee a note about 7 a.m. stating he had a gun, according to the Oak Creek Police Department logbook. No gun was seen. He was described as a white man in his 40s, about 5-foot-8, medium build and wearing an orange knit camp and a tan jacket, according to the logbook. He was last seen on College Avenue. Police searched the area but could not immediately find him. The store, 6292 S. 27th St., is on the Milwaukee side of the intersection.

Man Reports Robbery Near 27th and College

A 47-year-old said he was robbed of his wallet while checking his tires on W. College Avenue. Police say some items don't match up and are still investigating.

A 47-year-old Random Lake man told police he was robbed while checking his tires on College Avenue in Oak Creek. According to a police report, the man pulled over in the 2500 block of W. College Avenue late Sunday night after hearing a squeak in his tires. Someone approached him from behind and said, "Give me your wallet. I have a gun." A struggle ensued and the 47-year-old's wallet fell to the ground, according to the report. The suspect took the wallet and was picked up in blue four-door vehicle. The victim said he followed the man on Interstate 94 before losing him near Martin Luther King Drive in Milwaukee. 19-Year-Old Arrested in Craigslist Robbery

A 24-year-old man trying to sell iPhones through Craigslist was robbed in an Oak Creek mobile home park Oct. 26. Police arrested a suspect Wednesday.

Oak Creek police have arrested 19-year-old man in connection with the robbery of a man selling iPhones through Craigslist. According to a police report, a 24-year-old man arranged to meet a person at the Hy-View Mobile Home Park, 2137 W. College Ave., on Oct. 26 to sell the phones. As they started talking, three unknown males, one of whom had a club in his hand, approached him. One of the men said, "I'm going to get you (expletive)," and the 24-year-old fled, according to the report.  Police took the 19-year-old Milwaukee man into custody Wednesday, according to the department logbook. No charges have yet been filed. The Milwaukee Police Department was investigating a similar incident in the area with the same suspects.

Man Selling iPhone Via Craigslist Robbed in O.C.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee man arranged to meet a person to sell two iPhones, but fled after three people, one of whom carried a club, approached him.

A 24-year-old Milwaukee man trying to sell two iPhones through Craigslist was robbed by three people Friday night in Oak Creek. According to an Oak Creek police report, a man contacted the 24-year-old saying he wanted to buy the phones and they arranged to meet in a dark entrance at the Hy-View Mobile Home Park, in the 2100 block of W. Woman Robbed at Knifepoint Inside Home

Police are investigating a Wednesday night incident in which a woman on 15th Avenue was robbed of her purse.

Using a house key hidden in the front porch, a man holding a knife entered a home on 15th Avenue and robbed a woman of her purse, according to Oak Creek police. According to a police report, the man entered a home in the 8400 block of S. 15th Avenue about 10 p.m. Wednesday. The 54-year-old female resident told police he held the knife in his right hand as he demanded her purse. He fled on foot southbound on 15th Avenue. The suspect was described as 6-feet tall, 160 pounds, wearing a white and blue baseball cap and a navy blue and gray striped shirt. Police are still investigating. Extra patrols were requested around the woman's house.
