Oak Creek Woman Charged With Greenfield Purse Theft
Suspect tells police she decided to steal the victim's purse off a pinball machine at The Scuttlebutt Lounge after having a few drinks with friends.
A 25-year-old Oak Creek woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole a purse from a woman in a Greenfield tavern and then used the victim’s credit card to buy gas. Dana A. Marifke was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of theft. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Feb. 5, the victim was at The Scuttlebutt Lounge, 5175 S. 27th St., where she placed her purse and jacket on top of a pinball machine near her table. Later in the evening while preparing to leave, the victim discovered her purse had been stolen. On Feb. 17, Marifke was arrested in Milwaukee for retail theft and officers found the victim’s credit card in her boot. …
