US Postal Service Nixes Saturday Deliveries Beginning August 5

To save money, officials with the U.S. Postal Service have decided to cancel Saturday deliveries. Here's what the current hours are at the Post Office locations in Oak Creek.

The days of getting mail on Saturdays will be over beginning August 5, according to the U.S. Postal Service. The new delivery schedule includes package delivery and the changes are expected to save them $2 billion. “The Postal Service is advancing an important new approach to delivery that reflects the strong growth of our package business and responds to the financial realities resulting from America’s changing mailing habits,” said Patrick R. Stamp Prices Increase: What to Know for Your Next Trip to the Oak Creek Post Office

Cost of stamps will go up a penny later this month, while the USPS is also rolling out a new stamp for international letters.

The cost of stamps is going up again later this month. Effective Jan. 27, stamps for first-class letters will go up a penny to 46 cents. Postcards also will see a one-cent increase, to 33 cents. In addition, the U.S. Postal Service is rolling out a new "Global Forever Stamp," which allows customers to mail letters internationally for one set price of $1.10. Meanwhile, new pricing for Priority Mail Flat Rate products include: The Oak Creek post office is at 200 E. Centennial Drive.
