Patch Names 'Cutest Couple' Winner

Love is in the air and Patch is here to help share those fuzzy feelings on the interwebs. Take a look at all the great comments shared about these couples and just who took the title, Patch's Cutest Couple.

Brad Rosenbaum and Jenny Sproehlich of Menomonee Falls will enjoy dinner at a Port Washington restuarant after winning Patch's Cutest Couple Valentine's Day contest. The 15 Patch sites in southeastern Wisconsin invited couples to post their photos online and asked readers to vote on their favorites. We received more than 70 nominations of couple of all ages, and more than 100 votes. Brad and Jenny earned 25 votes to take home the prize: a $40 gift card for a romantic dinner donated by The Pasta Shoppe in Port Washington. As Brad explained, that restaurant has special meaning for the couple: Jenny and I first met at the Pasta Shoppe, which is way too big of a coincidence for this contest! Vote for me and I....promise not to bring politics …

Kiss at Qdoba for Half-Off Deal on Valentine's Day

Wisconsin stores offer a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal for customers who kiss someone while at the cash register.

If you are willing to engage in a small public show of affection, you can get a discount deal Tuesday at Qdoba restaurants. All Wisconsin stores, including the one in Oak Creek at 8750 S. Howell Ave., are offering the Valentine's Day discount: Kiss someone while ordering an entree, and you get a second entree at half-price. The recipient of the kiss could be a friend, relative, significant other or "understanding stranger," the website says. If you lived in any other state where Qdoba does business, you would do even better - elsewhere in the nation, the corporate promotion is being called "BOGO (Buy one, get one) For A Kiss," and that second entree is free. "A lot of our markets (in Wisconsin) are not heavily discounted markets," said …

Curl Up with These Characters for a Great Valentine's Day

A good read can extend the fun and love of Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day, like Christmas, seems to require a lot of preparation with the fun and joy gone in a matter of hours. Life returns to normal. The alarm clock still goes off the next morning. Extending the fun, joy and love of the day can be as simple as starting a new book; getting to know new characters, visiting different cities and towns, and losing time in another world. Here are some Patch Picks to get started: Born Under a Lucky Moon, Dana Precious: This story follows real-life events that have been turned into fiction and told in first-person. Jeannie takes readers from her childhood in the Midwest to her present in Hollywood to discover a wonderful love story. Undead and Unwed, Mary Janice Davidson: A few days after Betsy was …

Five Valentine's Day Movie Selections

Need help getting in the spirit for Valentine's Day? Here are some choice films to get in the mood.

Valentine's Day falls on a Monday this year, probably the least romantic day of the week. And there's still the day before Valentine's Day to consider. How about just grabbing some popcorn and popping in a movie? Besides, now that the Super Bowl is over, long months of Sundays stretch into what seems like infinity. Or at least until September when the season gets underway again.  In any case, these are good movies for snuggling on the couch while it's still winter and snow blankets the ground. Sweet Home Alabama - Melanie is an upcoming fashion designer in New York City and is engaged to the mayor's handsome son. She's looking forward to marrying the man of her dreams ... as soon as she goes back to her hometown in Alabama to divorce her …
