New partnership enables TV station and community websites to join resources for expanded coverage of southeastern Wisconsin.
The 15 Patch websites in southeastern Wisconsin and WISN 12 have entered into a new partnership that will intensify local news and sports coverage throughout the region. The two news outlets are combining resources and sharing content, and will be partnering on big stories and events all over the Milwaukee area. Because all Patch editors either live in the communities they cover or just minutes away, they are often first on the scene when suburban stories break. They will be able to provide more depth and story specifics to the WISN 12 news desk. Coupled with WISN 12's story-telling skills and strong visuals, the station's viewers in southeastern Wisconsin will benefit from knowing more about what's happening in their communities. In …

Oak Creek's Craig Wittek talks about the auto-asphyxiation death of his 12-year-old son in September.
An Oak Creek father whose son died last year after playing the "Choking Game" was among the parents interviewed Monday night in a special report on the WISN 12 News. Craig Wittek shared the story of his son, Gage, a 12-year-old who died in September, with WISN's Christina Palladino. Craig found his son with a plastic bag over his head and a belt around his neck. Gage was in seventh grade at South Milwaukee Middle School at the time of his death. Channel 12, Patch's new media partners, talked to five families about their sons who died from “the choking game." Here are the latest updates from the campaign trail in the race to be the next U.S. senator from Wisconsin.
Leading up to the Aug. 14 primary, Patch will regularly bring you the latest news from the campaigns for Wisconsin's U.S. Senate seat in play this election cycle. WISN cancels debate WISN-TV (Channel 12) on Tuesday cancelled a debate planned with GOP candidates due to scheduling issues between the station and Eric Hovde's campaign. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, representatives of the station were able to get commitments from the Tommy Thompson, Mark Neumann and Jeff Fitzgerald campaigns, but they did not come to a consensus with Hovde. The debate was set to take place at the Marquette University Law School on July 31, Aug. 2 or Aug. 7. A debate is still planned for the winner of the Aug. 14 primary and Democratic candidate …
