ReplyGood advice! Agreed....Getting in to social media, specifically Twitter can be intimidating! It's like a different language. Now that I've been using it for a couple years, both for personal use and business, it comes naturally. The most important thing I always tell people is to not be afraid to jump into conversations. As you mentioned, monitoring certain Key Words is essential! It's all about engagement and connecting with others...Watch conversations for ways you can help others.

ReplyI really loved Scaffidi's concept of the library as a public/private endeavor. There is merit in those sorts of ideas. Like some of the exciting things happening at the Grand Avenue like Art Milwaukee and MiKE-brining different aspects of culture, community, talent development, and business together for resource sharing. Wondering how higher education, other sorts of community based learning, and co-working spaces can fit into the vision for the library-further enhancing the space and drawing in patrons.

ReplyI look forward to reading more from you Anthony! I love talking about social media and exploring it's uses. I got into social only a couple of years ago and have been so intrigued by it. I love looking at how companies are utilizing it, especially our small local businesses. Nothing feels better to a customer than really being listened too and social media is such a great way to accomplish that.

It was an amazingly powerful night in Oak Creek! It's hard to explain what it felt like being there to people who didn't make it out...It was entirely moving and completely beautiful to see our community come together.
