I've wanted to be a writer for as long as I could write. I'm curious by nature with a passion for research and telling people the truth. I'm also very bubbly and social with a romance for hearing a great story. Journalism is the perfect fit for me.
I graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2008 with a bachelors in print-journalism. While in college, I wrote for Citigal Magazine and blogged for Oak Creek NOW. The job market was pretty terrible - especially in journalism - when I graduated, but I was fortunate enough to land a temp job as a content specialist at a costume and party supply etailer where I worked for one year. I also freelanced for My Community NOW Newspapers and Milwaukee Examiner.
Currently, I work as a marketing and communications specialist for a non-profit organization and am going to school part-time for an associates degree in photography and a certificate in multimedia at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
My dream job would be travel writing and underwater photography. I have a SCUBA certification and am hoping to use all three backgrounds - journalism, photography and SCUBA - to achieve that dream someday.
