South-Side Residents Seek Oak Creek Water Service
Residents living in an area where elevated levels of molybdenum may get service from the Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility.
Property owners on a portion of Oak Creek's south side have petitioned the Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility for water service, and they may get their wish.
The Oak Creek Common Council on Tuesday is scheduled to take up a resolution on levying special assessments for a water main to be installed on S. 10th Avenue, from 450 feet south of Becker Road to E. County Line Road, and on E. County Line Road from 10th Avenue to Chicago Road.
The project was initiated by property owners through a petition for public service, according to a report to council members. Those residents would help fund the project through special assessments. A public hearing will be held in September before any final approval.
The area is where the state Department of Natural Resources has found elevated levels of molybdenum in private wells.
